CAREER SNAPSHOT

Partners in Performance – Principal – Senior Engagement Manager

  • Australian Underground Copper: $100+m pa benefit over 18months a 22% increase in tones delivered to the surface, a 21% improvement in development performance and a 17% lift in utilisation of key operational equipment
  • Australian Open Cut Iron Ore: during a 9 month program the following sustainable results were delivered a 25% increase in material through the plant (and therefore railed), a 28% increase in total material removed and improved fleet availability.

The Jamieson Group – GM – Operations, Chief Analyst, Implementation Specialist

  • Australian Underground Colliery: $9.5m pa benefit in 7 months through a 41% improvement in Development performance thus removing the need for a Longwall shutdown and enabling the production of an additional 265K tonnes for the year.
  • Australian Open Cut Coal Mine: during a 6 month program the following sustainable results were delivered without a reduction in labour levels, a 25% increase in Availability, an 18% decrease in Labour Dollars per Tonne and a 36% increase in Tonnes per Full Time employee
  • Australian Timber and Hardware Producer: an 11% reduction in cost per unit was achieved through product rationalisation combined with a 30% sustainable productivity improvement over a 6 month period.
  • PNG, Gold Ore Processing: $USD10m+ pa was delivered during an 11 month programme as a result of a throughput increase of 7% and a recovery increase of 5%.
  • Indonesian Maintenance Operation: Halved service times on heavy equipment and completely eliminated overruns on major shutdowns.

 Asian Business Solutions –  Implementation Specialist

  • Malaysian Electronics Manufacturer: $4+m pa in 9 months through the de-bottle necking of the production lines, a dramatic increase in yield (70% to 85%+) and the streamlining of the JIT procurement and warehousing processes.

MAXX Implementation– Implementation Specialist

  • Australian Electricity Distribution: $3.2m pa in 8 months through a19% Sustained productivity Improvement

Education and interests
Julian has a Bachelor in Education and a Diploma in Teaching from the University of Otago. His interests include, Rugby Union, Touch Football and in particular spending time with his four children.
