Context / scope of project: This underground mine was having problems with their outsourced mining contractor and eventually needed to change them out without causing major disruptions to the operation of the site. PIP’s involvement was to try to salvage the performance of the existing contractor, but also plan for a change if needed, then oversee the contract replacement.

PIP and client achieved:
	weekly underground development up 50% within 2 weeks of transition (105 to 157m/week)
	minimal disruption
	all required equipment ready on first day of new contractor
	new contract more commercially favourable
	all existing contract labour interviewed within 4 days of announcement of change
